coveting...

this whole spread from Spruce designer Sarah's wedding. She, fiance, and 2 friends managed to cater the entire wedding themselves! I love the limited bar menu on the chalkboard, as well as the homespun cheese setup. (via style me pretty)

magical forest dinner party

Susie threw a 'magical forest dinner party' for a dear friend's birthday, with lovely results! This could easily be translated to a 'woodland fairy' party as well- check it all out at rock scissor paper.

modern safari party

This super cute party was for a grown-ups only gathering- what fun details! It has a Jonathan Adler-eque feeling with all the bright prints and fun animals. Much more from celebrations at home on flickr.

3.4.

I had the best of intentions to take detailed photos of my 34th birthday soiree, but as luck would have it- we ran out of time. Turns out managing two young kids while sending mom out for a massage and getting ready for a party is next to impossible. So I only got so far as to photograph the mint-infused ice cubes before I was instructed to put down the camera and get ready! I wish I could show you pictures of cute hubby dressed in all-white with a bow tie, of custom 'specialty' drinks he created (he considers himself an iron chef in the kitchen, but unfortunately, is not), of my sweet Gram eating up the attention of all the ladies. But alas, all I have are the ice cubes. Hopefully you get the picture- I promise to be better next time!

Sara threw a 28th birthday bash for her husband, Isaac- with the 'theme' being...Isaac. Isaac's face adorned just about everything at the party. You won't want to miss it all right here.

90th birthday

I'm loving Brooke's post on a party her family threw for her grandmother's 90th birthday. You won't want to miss all of the thoughtful details for the celebration right here.

When my grandmother turned 100 several years ago, my mother arranged to have a bagpiper play at the nursing home where she lived. It had been awhile since we'd seen the light in her eyes, but there was a visible sparkle of who she used to be when those bag pipes played. It was awesome to see. I highly recommend any commemoration for the elders in your life!

gender reveal party

Brooke always makes sure that I see the latest and greatest in party ideas, and this 'gender party reveal' is no exception! I love the idea of having friends and family over to break the news. Such a great way to celebrate the impending arrival!

A couple of ideas to steal...guests were asked to dress in pink or blue to indicate their guess...a colored gumball hidden inside the cupcakes denoted the gender (everyone bit into their cupcakes at the same time). What fun!
