FOUND! The golden egg.

For those of you who have followed Party Perfect for awhile, you might remember the fruitless search for my beloved 'golden egg' last year. Well- after much searching done by both my mom and I, we are so happy to proclaim we have found(!) the closest thing to the original. I am so, so excited about this source... going through their site was a trip down memory lane. Who knew that they still made those awesome panorama Easter eggs? I remember gettting giddy about them as a little girl. I am definitely bookmarking Blumchen... for Easters to come.

lego candles

I'm feeling rather international these days, after having an ichat with my mom while she was in Chile and my in-laws while they were in New Zealand. So when an email from Brazil's Color Party popped up in my inbox, I couldn't help but take a look. I spotted these great Blokz (i.e., Lego) candles on her blog. Which led me to a search for them in the states (found: right here!). I also stumbled across this awesome, huge ($48) lego candle. Cute.

Those of you State-side also smitten with the clear polka dot balloons from this party, I have located a great online source. Available in 10 colors right here!

Gen passed along this gem of a retailer from Etsy...cutecups. This Singapore-based retailer ships to the US for only $5, and has a wide selection that includes candy cups, glassine bags, colored ties and much more. Check out all of the variety right here.

more details from sharnel

It seems I'm not the only one in love with Sharnel's birthday party, so I asked her to divulge a couple more details then she initially shared with us.

From Sharnel

"The inspiration for Olivia’s party came from a dessert buffet Amy Atlas created and an image I saw on flickr of some Martha Stewart pom pom decorations. We love to throw parties that parents can relax at and enjoy themselves, too.  So we searched for an entertainer that would keep the littlies mesmerised for a good while.  Princess Sharara filled that brief perfectly.  She is aprofessional belly dancer that also transforms children's parties into a magical Arabian fun fantasy.

When designing the Olivia’s cake, I knew I had to have one of Lollipop Workshops creations. Jen will custom make a whimsical topper just for you.

Jars and vessels for the dessert buffet where either sourced locally or my own.

I designed the labels for the buffet and the font I used is JBCursive from Dafont.com (lots of requests for the name of that font!)

One of the first things I completed for the party were the party favours.  I collected lots of different fabrics that complemented the colour scheme and sewed the favour bags.  Each one was filled with a polka dot notebook, pencils, eraser and sharpener. The gift tags are from La Papier Studio.  I wanted the guests to take away something that would remind them of their fun-filled day."

Thanks for sharing all of your great sources, Sharnel!

source: TINSEL TRADING

A thank you to the MSW blog for reminding me of the Tinsel Trading Company. All of the MS stylists and crafts people are regulars at the store. It's a wonderland of ribbons, trim and every embellishment imaginable! It's best if you know what you're looking for...otherwise you can find yourself wandering in a stupor just trying to take it all in (kind of like I feel in IKEA). While I prefer to visit the store in person, I was thrilled to see that they now have a much more user-friendly website

source: CONFECTIONERY HOUSE

I recently stumbled upon the great product offering of Confectionery House. Bright cupcake /muffin baking cups, white cookie bags (for much cheaper then I've seen elsewhere), and fun colored jimmies and quins sold me, as well as a user-friendly website.

source: PLASTICA

Plastica, a store based in L.A.'s Silverlake neighborhood, houses all sorts of cool and one-of-a-kind items. Plastica is the perfect place to find unique partyware, gifts and practical everyday items that are durable and affordable, as well as design savvy. While many of their items are plastic (the material that inspired their name), they feature items made out of a variety of other materials as well. Lucky for us, we don't have to live in L.A. to enjoy their wares, since they have a great online store as well!

Some favorites pictured above: recycled plastic tub (perfect to keep drinks cold for a party); bento box (great for party leftovers or a picnic); Marimekko serving tray; thermos with a built-in spoon; set of white coffee cups (I'm in love with these, even though I don't drink coffee!); and a washing up bowl- pretty enough to keep out in the open and practical enough to wash your most fragile items in.

I love these decorations from Luna Bazaar! Starting at $1.50 / piece, they are quite a steal. Their website is filled with lots of fun products at a good price. (from top: flower garland, orange parasol, paper daisy) www.lunabazaar.com
