I suppose the technical term is 'garland', but to me, that word doesn't encompass all of the hang-y things that I love...which I seem to spot everywhere I look these days.
Here's a collection of my latest faves from: black eiffel, desire to inspire, design sponge (3 + 4), better homes & gardens, chiara belle (6, 7 + 8), lena corwin (9 + 10), chelsea at frolic (11 + 12), the fabulous garland via frolic (13 + 14), design mom.

i love the metallic flowers - they are def my fave! ciao. ciao.
what a fantastic collection of 'hangy' things (i call them that as well, don't worry!) - my 11 month old god daughter has bunting in her room and it is the cutest! z
love it! what a great group. long live the hang-y things.
I'm so on the same page as you. Every year for the holidays, I string up all the cards we receive from family and friends and display them at our annual Holiday Hangovers and Leftovers Party in January. Its simple decor with a fun twist.
And I don't know how I've gotten away with it, but the first holiday we spend in our now 2 year old apartment, I strung up some vintage metallic champagne colored garland in the doorway to our living room. Two years later, its still there and makes me smile everytime I walk in the room.
Hi there - thanks for the using my photos! What a treat to come across them! I wanted to share some other "hang-y" things, from my baby's first birthday - http://flickr.com/photos/24835095@N02/sets/72157608287072227/
PS I love your blog! That kindof goes without saying!
