reader question of the week #1

reader question of the week #1:

"I'm throwing a baby shower for my best friend. She's having her third boy. They're very country, so we're doing a cowboy theme. Lemonade from mason jars, BBQ, the whole sha-bang. I just wanted to see if any of your readers had any good ideas for decor, among other things. Thanks in advance! -Lindsay"

Could add western gold mining to the cowboy mix... Use pie pans to serve food as either chuck wagon plates, or as gold mining pans. You could decorate with gold nuggets (rocks spray painted gold), or spurs and horseshoes (found on ebay). Could make bolo ties with family/baby information on wooden medallions, or real ones using conchos (found on ebay), . Make "sheriff" badge name tags. Bales of hay... Cowboy boots drawn on everything... Upside down cowboy hats used as serving containers...

Denim and bandana paisly material would go great on pretty much everything. Hay/hay balesRope and twine are good materials too. I'd do searches for cowboy birthday parties for more inspiration. Cow print is big right now too, so that might be a good material to use (balloons, black spots on a white table cloth etc.)
