reader question of the week #1

Some days, I really love this blog- not only do I get to see inspirational parties but I get to hear about party requests- sometimes the ones from kids really tickle me. I knew nothing of this character until doing some 'research' after receiving this question...

"We are going to be celebrating our son's 6th birthday and his request was a rather unusual one. He wants a Captain Underpants birthday theme. Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you- Jeny"

And for those looking for 'potty humor', an end-of-potty training party right here.

No matter what, you must hang a clothesline with men's briefs across the room. Too funny!

After skimming through the wikipedia article... Have some white brief's for the guests to wear outside their clothes. The birthday boy gets the red cape too. I'd take inspiration from the yellow action words on the cover of the book "Action" "Thrills" "Laffs" for the invitations and the decor. Name the punch "Extra Strength Super Power Juice." Maybe a game you could play would be like a ring toss with a plunger.

Heather from Amorology Weddings threw her little boy an awesome super hero party, maybe you can get some ideas from it. http://amorologyweddings.blogspot.com/2009/08/fantastic-4-continued.html

i am familiar with the series, i agree with bree about just labeling things in the style of the book, that could go a long way! theres actually a lot in the books that you could probably draw from. for instance, theres the book where everyone has their name changed to a silly name. you could do this with the kids and have them wear silly name tags
