reader question of the week

Reader question of the week:

"I'm co-hosting a baby shower for my friend who is having a baby boy. We want to do a nautical theme but I'm having a hard time thinking of ideas for cute favors, invitations, the menu, drinks and decor. I would love suggestions or ideas of how to make it a fabulous and classy nautical-themed shower without being cheesy. Thanks for any ideas! -Colleen"

These would be adorable filled with personalized m&m's or "life" savors!

You could make sugar cookies in different nautical shapes, anchor, sailboat, lobster, etc. but then ice them with white icing with thin pale blue stripes on top to make them look like seersucker!

I would say focus more on fun little boats and whales and less on cheesy other things.

I did a nautical theme party for my nephew and got some GREAT nautical stripe fabric at IKEA (booyah!)

I have the pictures as part of a little collage but you can see them here
